Transfer arm heads carry the grippers that move preforms and bottles between the oven, the blowing wheel and the exit. Worn heads cause gripper instability, misloads and dropped bottles. UM's improved transfer arm heads are machined instead of cast, lighter, and built to last longer than the OEM heads.
On the OEM cast head, damage to the striker plate, the spring holders or the spring means replacing the whole head. The UM head can be rebuilt with a kit, so you only replace the worn parts. UM also supplies maintenance and rebuild kits for Universal biaxial transfer arm heads on SBO 6 to SBO 20 machines.
Send the machine model and series, whether the head is quick-change or not, the OEM part number if known, and a photo of the installed head. Check the grippers and cam followers at the same time, since worn parts there also affect transfer stability.

Ball bearings wear much more slowly than bushings, which greatly extends the life of the head. Worn bushings also let the gripper move and become unstable; bearings do not.
Yes. The striker plate and spring holders are replaceable, and UM supplies a rebuild kit, so a damaged head can be restored instead of replaced.
Stronger. Machining from solid aluminum gives a part that is about 20% lighter and more resistant to breakage than a casting.
Send us an OEM part number, a drawing, a photo or a sample and our team will confirm availability and compatibility.
